YVAA MELTHAM (7/03/10)
ERR had twelve runners out on the first of this season’s Yorkshire Vets races. On a bitterly cold morning with difficult conditions to contend with underfoot & on a challenging course with numerous stiles to cross we had some great performances.
For the ladies in 1st position was Janice Magennis 60.47, Helen Freeman 65.29, Dawn Hogan 73.26, Alison Hartley 77.36, Linda Bussey 83.13, Susan Birbeck 88.09, Hazel Maddocks 88.13, Kathryn Lucas 89.50.
For the men in 1st position Mick Hogan 46.18, Lyndon Ross 56.45, John Birbeck 74.32 & Terry Maddocks 89.52.
Well done team ERR for such a great effort.

PECO X COUNTRY (Esholt 7/03/10)
ERR had 3 runners out in this final race of the Peco League,taking the honours was Robert Sutton followed by Brian Perfitt & Dave Cartwright.
Thanks to the ERR ladies who helped marshall this race.

SNAKE LANE 10m (28/02/10)
Unfortunately only 3 of us made the trip to East Yorkshire for this popular 10 mile race . The course is mainly run on country lanes through small villages in and around Pocklington.
On a very breezy day but dry conditions.
Our only female runner was Dawn Hogan 105.38 and for the men Lyndon Ross 87.03 smashing his “PB” by 5 mins, & Mick Hogan 67.41.

LIVERSEDGE HALF MARATHON (14/02/10)
Eccleshill had 4 runners out in this local race that as a good blend of uphill climbs and some fast downhill stretches run again in near perfect conditions.
First home for ERR was Claire Elener 92.36 followed by Joanne Rowley 120.28,Sophie Withnall 136.39,Gill Jones 143.09, all using it as a build up to their future marathons.

DEWSBURY 10K (7/02/10)
Eccleshill Eagles had a fantastic turnout of twelve runners in this fast out and back course, run in near perfect conditions (if not a bit chilly) in Dewsbury.
Leading the way the way for ERR was Mick Hogan 39.58, Mark Scott 43.35, Neil Shepherd 46.00, Lyndon Ross 49.58 “PB”, Lindsey Winter 54.57, Julie Steele 56.47, Gill Jones 58.17, Dawn Hogan 58.55 “PB”, Sharon Heels 64.11, Arthur James 73.23, Diane Aykroyd 73.50, Suzy Longbottom 77.43.

MELTHAM 10K (31/01/10)
Eccleshill had just the one runner in this tough undulating race, run mainly on country roads that proved treacherous at times with most people having to walk over icy stretches in places.
Still managing a “PB” was Lyndon Ross in 53.27 helped along by the great marshalling and fantastic atmosphere.

PECO CROSS COUNTRY (4TH RACE) 31/01/10 JOHN SMEATON, LEEDS
We only managed to field 5 runners in todays race, with marathon training and injuries getting in the way.
In sunny conditions with none of the mud of previous years, due to a severe overnight frost making the ground very hard, we still had some good performances. The ladies even managed to fit a long run into there schedule before the race.
First in for the ladies was Julie Steele followed closely by Lisa Butcher and not far behind was Gill Jones. Just ahead of these 3 was Brian Perfitt and Dave Cartwright.

PARKRUN (30/01/10)
We had 3 runners out in this early morning 5k race in Hyde Park Leeds,Brian Perfitt 23-49,Gill Jones 30-45 & Diane Aykroyd 36-24.
For anyone that doesn’t know this is a free event run every Saturday at 9am, All you have to do is register before you attend then just turn up and run.
BRASS MONKEY HALF (24/01/10)
This year’s Brass Monkey Half Marathon hosted by Knavesmire Harriers at York Racecourse Grandstand was a dismal, cold and drizzling morning which provided near perfect running conditions!
Eccleshill had eight participants in this very popular, largely flat and at times scenic race.
The only undulations being a couple of railway bridges and a section over the A64.
First in for Eccleshill was Claire Elener storming home in 1:28:37, followed by Robert Sutton 1:37:18, Brian Perfitt 1:53:51, Julie Steele 2:02:58 (PB), Lisa Butcher 2:03:53, Joanne Rowley 2:12:28, Sophie Withnall 2:16:53 and Gillian Jones 2:19:05.
Excellent organisation and very friendly marshals along with a group cheer over the finish line and excellent post race refreshments will definately entice us back next year. Some excellent finishing times.

Leeds Abbey Dash
This popular out and back course had a record turnout with around eight thousand runners the organisers are aiming for ten thousand next year Eccleshill were there in force and with a few PB’s well done to all.

GUY FAWKES 10 (1st Nov 09)
Nine runners braved the gale force winds and driving rain to compete in this undulating course having to endure some treacherous conditions.
First in for ERR was Mick Hogan 74.02, Mark Scott 82.40, Brian Perfitt 89.19, Lyndon Ross 92.10 (pb), Julie Steele 102.15, Sophie Withnall 103.25, Gill Jones 109.13, Sharon Heels 112.25 & Susan Birbeck 127.32.
Great effort by all in atrocious conditions.

NEW YORK MARATHON (1st Nov 09)
Congratulations to Claire & Robert for completing the marathon,
Claire finishing in 3-12-14 knocking over 11 mins off her P.B,Robert finishing in 3-33-09.
The pair were joined by fellow AA runner Jen Willingham 3-55-14 (St Bedes).

BRIDLINGTON HALF MARATHON & FUN RUN (18th Oct 09)
Eccleshill had a great turnout or these 2 events, in near perfect running conditions with only the usual strong headwind to contend with for the last mile from Sewerby Park to the seafront.
First off were the juniors with Tom Whittaker taking first place followed closely by Mark & Jade.
In the half first home for ERR was Claire Elener 89mins (4th Lady), Rob Sutton 92mins, Neil Sheperd 99mins, Mark Scott 101mins, Brian Perfitt 110mins, Helen Freeman & Lyndon Ross 116mins, Jo Rowley 121mins, Lisa Butcher 122mins, Sharon Heels, Julie Steele & Gill Jones 138mins, John Birbeck 145mins, Terry Maddocks 151mins, Hazel Maddocks 165mins & Sue Birbeck 167mins.
Followed by the afternoon in Weatherspoons where the food order seemed to take longer than the race itself!

BRADFORD CITY RUN ‘09’ (10 IMLE/5 MILE)
Eccleshill had 3 runners in the 10 mile race ,first in was Laura Brook 94.50, Kim James 112.33 & Authur James 119.37.
In the 5 mile challenge we had Diane Aykroyd running with daughter Claire in 57.50 & 58.30 respectively.
